Patients covered by private insurance companies
Eurohealthcare has arrangements with many private insurance companies including:
ETHNIKI ASFALISTIKI - ASTERAS (on a patient by patient basis) AGROTIKI INSURANCE, AGROTIKI ASFALISTIKI PRONIA, FOINIKAS METROLIFE EMPORIKI, EVROPAIKI PISTI
We will guide the patient in the selection of the most appropriate doctor and hospital specializing in their disorder if you have not chosen one already.
We will forward the translated patient’s medical history to the selected specialist doctor.
If the patient requires admission to hospital, we carry out the required procedures in order to receive the initial approval for treatment by the insurance company ensuring that the insurance will pay directly the amount that the patient is insured for.
It is absolutely necessary prior to an admission overseas, that the insured who have policies with the insurance companies listed above, contact us in advance and give us time to achieve pre-approval.
When the medical reports and the paid invoices have been received, he will submit them to his insurance company where they will decide if this case is not preexistent and it is covered by his policy in order to repay the costs of treatment.
It is important to be aware that we are able to make arrangements with other insurance companies that are not in our current list to avoid the need to pay for the cost of the treatment in advance and claim back afterwards. So whoever your private insurance company is it can be in your best interest to contact us before arranging treatment.
Thereafter, when the pre-approval is achieved, we notify the insurance company and the patient of the estimated cost and duration of treatment so that the patient is aware of the sum to be covered by the insurance company before treatment commences and of his participation if any according to his policy.
If the insurance company will only cover part of the treatment costs then we can arrange with the hospital to issue two original separate invoices (one for the insurance’s and one for patient’s liability). In this way, the insurant may claim the amount of their liability from any other private insurance they may hold or attach it to their tax statement.
